Support people with an autism and/or mild learning disability diagnosis (over 14 years old) to fulfil their ambitions such as finding employment, preparing for further study, increasing social networks and building independence.
Offer one to one recovery-focussed support to people experiencing ill mental health for up to six months (must be over 18 years old and without a learning disability)
East Dunbartonshire Association for Mental Health (EDAMH)
Provide independent advocacy on issues including communicating with social work, guardianship, accessing extra support for education or employment and PIP assessments, among many other things
Advice on a range of topics including financial, legal and healthcare issues. CAB within East Dunbartonshire also have a dedicated service to help understand and apply for disability benefits.

Provide support to carers within East Dunbartonshire by offering one to one support, information, advocacy, courses, groups and overall listening to your needs to support you within your caring role.
LAC’s run a monthly Parent and Carer Forum for those who have a caring responsibility for someone on the autism spectrum – including talks from invited speakers and peer support
Provide assistance creating a CV as well as advising on which jobs are most suitable to apply for and signposting employment support
Support to find and engage with post-school opportunities to gain skills and independence

Local support group for parents, grandparents and carers for autistic people - meeting in the Milngavie Tesco café every Friday at 1pm (except chool holidays)

A free six week block of training run by neurodiverse occupational therapist Heather Wright on the subjects: ‘Understanding Autism and Neurodiversity’; ‘Communication’; ‘Processing Differences’; ‘Sensory Issues’; ‘Arousal and Behaviour issues’; and ‘Getting it Right’. Once you have done the six week block then you can attend additional add-on sessions on various topics
Training for parents and carers on how to support yourself and your child to cope with their behaviours that challenge (open to anyone with a child with additional support considerations)
A monthly meeting for those in East Dunbartonshire who have a caring responsibility for someone on the autism spectrum, at any age and at any stage of the diagnostic process. On the second Wednesday of every month from 6-8pm alternating between in person in Milngavie and online via Microsoft Teams. There are guest speakers invited to the online sessions to talk about a range of subjects. An ASN newsletter sent out every month to the mailing list along with the meeting minutes for those who couldn’t attend.

Providing peer support and training to support parents and carers of children with additional support needs and neurodivergent adults. Based in Glasgow but open to East Dunbartonshire families.
Parent and carer support, and a children and young people’s outreach service for those supporting someone with a diagnosis of autism, ADHD and/or dyslexia
Information sessions throughout the year run by Creatovators for those who have a caring responsibility for someone on the autism spectrum. Each session covers a different topic and has presentations from invited speakers. Previous topics include: sensory processing, autism and females, sibling relationships, education inclusion and autism and eating (among others). There is also the chance to ask questions to a panel of local residents on the autism spectrum, as well as peer-support with teas and coffees
